Wisconsin state lawmakers will be facing a bill soon that would make it a felony to deliberately injure and kill wildlife with snowmobiles and ATVs,according to FOX 21 NEWs.

This legislation comes after Wisconsin witnessed two separate attacks on wildlife by snowmobiles this last season.

The bill, written by Representative Andy Jorgensen, could cause violators to face prison time, be permanently kept from driving off-road vehicles and undergoing mental health counseling.

The Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs and other groups were consulted on this legislation.

The law would, also, require that any killings of wildlife by an outdoor recreational vehicle to be reported, according to a recent Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article.
