Eagle River, Wis.- For the second straight year, Tony Pettinelli, Jr. from Rome, N.Y. took home first place in the Vintage World Championship Final last weekend.

Pettinelli glided his Chaparral SSX to a first place finish. Coming in second was Jacob Goede from Shakopee, Minn. on his Polaris Starfire.

Pettinelli's brother, David Pettinelli, completed the podium by placing third on his Chaparral SSX Firebird. David placed second in last year's final.

It was a family affair again this year for the Pettinelli family with Davey Pettinelli, Jr. coming in fourth on his Chaparral SSX Firebird.

Each year's winner receives the American Snowmobiler Eagle Award trophy to mark the win of the premier vintage race in North America.

News of the North.net reported more than 800 vintage sleds were entered for the races, another record turnout. The 47th Annual World Championship will run at the Eagle River track this coming weekend, Jan. 15-17, the finals coming late in the afternoon on Sunday. Brian Bewcyk of Winnipeg, Man., won the last two years on a Ski-Doo.
