During a brisk and windy October weekend, a larger crowd than last year filed into the Wisconsin State Fair Park to attend this year's Snowmobile USA Show in Milwaukee, Wis.
Snowmobile USA reports attendance was up this year to 13,182 snowmobilers from 12,257 the year before for the entire weekend. Many of the vendors commented on going through more products and brochures at this year's show then last year.
All four OEMs had their 2012 snowmobiles on display.
In addition, Apparel and aftermarket companies from across the country and industry were out in full force. Klim, Castle, HMK, MotorFist and many more apparel companies were represented with big dealer displays and sales.
New to the show last year, Sled Divas, has changed their name to Divas Snow Gear and added a new line of gear as well. It was a popular booth for the women no doubt!
Aftermarket companies such as Straightline Performance, Bikeman Performance, Stud Boy, Goodwin Performance and others had busy booths that were humming with sledders all weekend. New products like Stud Boy's new Super Lite Pro backer were on display. Look for this product and many more in upcoming hot products section of the magazine.
Riders looking for cool places to head this winter also could find all sorts of brochures and maps from the various regional travel groups at the show. Tourism bureaus from out west in Yellowstone, up north in Canada and all over the Midwest and East were there to answer questions and book trips.
Responsible riding was again a major theme at this year's event. Mike Duffy, from Backcountry Access, taught an avalanche safety class and Scott Makowski taught a general snowmobile safety class at the show. Also, several snowmobile insurance companies had information and demo booths for future riders to learn the importance of insurance.
RMSHA champion and backcountry rider, Bret Rasmussen was on hand Saturday and Sunday giving autographs at Team Engelhart's booth.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to chat and visit. If you missed us in Milwaukee (our hometown), be sure to see us at the Novi, Mich., show Nov. 4-6. We'll be sure to have plenty of magazines and T-Shirts for sale, plus a very special subscription deal!
