Brandon Johnson has tied with P.J. Wanderscheid for the TLR Cup Championship after a win at the race in Wausau, Wis. Johnson hetook an early lead and never looked back as he roared to victory to claim his second straight TLR Cup victory of the season. Johnson's win moved him into a tie with Wanderscheid, of Sauk Center, Minn., for the points lead. Malcolm Chartier who finished second in the standing in 2011 is just 10 points out of the hunt. Defending cup champion Gary Moyle is seventh in the standings.
Nick Van Strydonk who finished second in the cup final in Eagle River before going on to win the 2012 Worlds Championship went out early in the final due to a minor crash in the final.
The next stop on the TLR Cup series will be in Weyauwega, Wis., February 12 & 13, 2012. Due to mild weather the race in Ogilvie, Minnesota on February 3, 4 and 5, has been postponed.
Started by businessman Tommy Lipar in 2011 the TLR Cup is a six race series across four associations for the Pro-Champ class also known as the World Championship class. The TLR Cup features a $100,000 plus total series payout.
