Nick Pryputniewicz on their summer chip track.
Recently we took a summer-time trip to the farm fields of central New York to visit the guys at Curve Industries. You probably know them for their skis, but Curve is quickly becoming known as the 'handling experts' when it comes to aftermarket handling add-ons for your sled.

In addition to their revolutionary HSS (High Side Steering) system, one of a kind 'Leading Edge' product, Nytro bushing kits and steering/handling hardware, Curve has just announced a new product called their 'Side Thruster.' This is a bolt-on product that mounts on the outside of either your stock ski, or your Curve Ski.

Stage 5 Elka shocks
The small angled piece is meant to give you more predictable and positive steering in the corners especially when excess snow is built up in the corner and skis have a tendency to push and lose turning ability. Aimed more at the crossover crowd, this should help on those days when you have 4-8 inches of fresh snow on the trail, but still want to rail through the corners.

In addition, the guys (and gals) at Curve informed us that they will be bringing Elka shocks to the American snowmobile market. These Canadian shock experts began mostly as an ATV shock company but have expanded greatly and are well known and respected on both sides of the border.

We tested a set of new Stage 5 Elka shocks on Curve's test mule (a 2012 Cat snocross race sled) at their summer snocross (chip track) test facility. We first tested the FOX Float Evol shocks, then tested the Elka shocks. We were impressed with the Elka's no doubt.

Senior Editor Mark Boncher testing the shocks.

We also tested the new Side Thrusters, at the chip track test facility, and found them to be an improvement over the stock Cat skis. Granted, without snow, this is not the greatest test scenario, but we are positively looking forward to how they will work on the snow.

Curve's graphic designer, Rachel Greenhalgh
Finally, we were able to sit down with Curve's graphic designer and she walked us through their brand new custom decal and apparel software that is now available for anyone to use on their website. REALLY cool stuff!

If you are looking for a look for your sled, bike, ATV, Razor, or just some cool hoodies or t-shirts for your snowmobiling crew, we highly suggest that you check this out. You will see the AmSnowcrew sporting gear designed by Curve and at least one of our custom t-shirts will be available at Hay Days this year so stop by our booth or the Curve booth for more details.

We also have an upcoming video explaining in even more detail all the Curve product,s and you'll get to see Senior Editor Mark Boncher try his best to negotiate the test track! More info: www.curveindustries.com
