Snowmobilers aching to smell the exhaust and hear BRAAP this summer should head to Grantsburg, Wis. July 19-21 for the World Championship Snowmobile Watercross.

This is the 37th year for the race, which draws thousands of fans to Memory Lake to watch the over 100 racers.

The first race was held in July 1977.

The International Watercross Association sanctions the race.

Qualifying races take place Friday. The Pit Crew “Dash for Cash” race on Saturday evening is a competition incorporating pit crew involvement.  Freestyle Watercross, by Six Four Industries will take place Saturday. In addition, there are displayers & vendors, food & beverage booths, a fireworks display on Saturday at dusk, and street dances both Friday and Saturday evening.
