    Arctic Cat to Move Headquarters

Arctic Cat Inc. announced it will move its corporate headquarters from Plymouth, Minn., to the North Loop area of downtown Minneapolis.

A six-story building, formerly known as the Western Container site, will be Cat's new home at 500 North 3rd Street, Minneapolis, 55401. The move is spurred by anticipated growth by the company, and Arctic Cat expects to eventually occupy the entire 55,000 square foot building.

"Our headquarters relocation will enable us to bring our leadership team and critical functions together in one space, to achieve our strategic growth and innovation plans," said Christopher Metz, CEO of Arctic Cat.

It's quite an upgrade in terms of the amount of space compared to Cat's 11,000 square foot offices currently leased in Plymouth. The company said it anticipates occupying its new space in the summer of 2016. Eventually, 150-200 personnel will be housed in the new location. Select employees will be asked to move from Cat's other locations in Thief River Falls and St. Cloud, Minn., to the new corporate offices.

Arctic Cat has said it does not anticipate the overall employment levels at the St. Cloud and Theif River Falls locations will be impacted.
