    ISHOF Announces New Inductees

    The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame (ISHOF) in Eagle River, Wis., has announced their class of 2016. Five individuals and one snowmobile club will be inducted into the ISHOF the weekend of September 23-24, 2016. You can find more details on Induction Weekend at www.ishof.com.

    American snowmobiler would like to congratulate all the member of the Class of 2016 for their dedication and stewardship to the sport of snowmobiling. Each has had a profound impact on the industry through their efforts. Here are the newest members of the ISHOF:

     Jack Hausner (Volunteer - Mahnomen, Minn.)

    • Member of seven different area clubs, holding offices in each of them
    • Credited with developing 'Snodeo' concept of local snowmobile competitions and activities
    • Owner of Jack's Motorsports (Polaris, Ski-Doo, Kawasaki, Arctic Cat)
    • 50+ years dedicated service to snowmobiling


     Walt Pederson (Explorer - Wyoming, Minn.)

    • Member of the Plaisted Expedition to the North Pole in 1968 (mechanic and Chaplin)
    • Ski-Doo dealer
    • Credited with inventing improved snowmobile speedometer, handlebar warmers and even a coloring book for kids



     Jerry Schmier (Volunteer - West Yellowstone, Mont.)

    • 50+ years leading development and grooming programs over 200 miles of trail
    • One of the original founders of the West Yellowstone Snowmobile EXPO
    • Owner of Yellowstone Adventures dealership
    • One of the early explorers to travel through Yellowstone National Park by snowmobile



     Donna White (Volunteer - Cambria, Wis.)

    • First female president of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC)
    • Served on Wisconsin's state Governor's Council for 18 years
    • Secretary/Treasurer of the Midwest Chapter of the International Snowmobile Council (ISC) later serving as its Chair for 2 years
    • Chair of the AWSC Scholarship Program for the past 15 years
    • 2013 co-chair of the ISC in Green Bay, Wis.
    • Held various positions and offices with numerous snowmobile industry organizations at local, state, regional, and national level over the past 40 years

     Robbie Hermanson (Groomer of the Year - West Yellowstone, Mont.)
    • 20+ years of service as club volunteer
    • Roles include groomer operator, mechanic, instructor, supervisor, relief driver, search and rescue, and event designer





     Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club (Club of the Year - Folly Lake, Nova Scotia)
    • Founded 1970, 225 members
    • Maintain and groom 150 km (93+ miles) of trail
    • Built "Dad's" warming hut dedicated to club members' fathers who have passed away
    • Snowmobile Association of Nova Scotia 'Club of the Year' (2015)
    • Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations 'Club of the Year' (2016)
