2017 Arctic Cat Thundercat snowmobile recallEarlier this week, Arctic Cat issued a recall on about 2,700 snowmobiles from model years 2017 and 2018. The drive clutch on the affected sleds can fracture and fragments can escape the snowmobile shielding, posing an impact hazard. Arctic Cat has received one report of a clutch failure and flying pieces. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves all 2017 Arctic Cat 9000 turbo models, including the Thundercats, as well as 6000, 7000, 8000, and 9000 models from model year 2018. Affected models were sold Arctic Cat dealerships nationwide from June 2016 through May 2017 for between $13,200 and $16,900. 2018 Arctic Cat XF 9000 High Country snowmobile recall

For the 2018 models, the last six digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN) are needed to identify recalled snowmobiles. Sleds that fall within range of 100001 through 102133 or 808003 through 808241 are subject to the recall. The VIN is stamped on the right side of the snowmobile tunnel near the right foot rest.

The recalled sleds were produced in a variety of color combinations. “Arctic Cat” is printed on the sides of the vehicle and on the back snowfall area. Arctic Cat snowmobile drive clutch recall
