    Textron Reports Q2 Results Impacted by Arctic Cat Acquisition

    Textron Inc. just reported its second quarter 2017 financial results, and a lot of the differences from Q2 2016 were attributed to its acquisition of Arctic Cat earlier this year.     Arctic Cat Recalls 2,700 Models Due to Impact Hazard

    Earlier this week, Arctic Cat issued a recall on about 2,700 snowmobiles from model years 2017 and 2018. The drive clutch on the affected sleds can fracture and fragments can escape the snowmobile shielding, posing an impact hazard. Arctic Cat has received one report of a clutch failure and flying pieces.     Polaris announced the recall of 2017 Polaris RMK, Pro-RMK, and SKS snowmobiles sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from May 2016 through March 2017. The recall involves a weld on the steering post that can separate, resulting in loss of steering control and posing a crash hazard.     Big changes are coming to Pro Open Snocross racing for the 2017-18 season.  At the ISR meeting this past week in Bloomington, Minn., it was announced that for next season all Pro Open sleds will be required to run the “stock” Pro Lite engine and chassis.
