    ? about D&D's 1107

I just picked up a single exhaust port 1107 Based on a stock 800 cylinders setup for trail riding. What I need to know is whats the most HP you can get out of this motor in race form. And how reliable are they. Right now it makes 213 on pump gas .

that h.p is over rated from what i have seen. dan hull from a@s racing did a full race ported 1107 out of a set of 900 cyl's race ported cyl's and cases with d@d 1000 mod pipes that made 218 on good gas with flat top pistons and about 160 lbs of compression. this is what we got maby a few more h.p to be got but unless you cut cyl's and weld up transferes you aint gona get much more...

That seems low my 900 single exhaust port makes 221 hp @ 9900 RPM When i had this motor done I was told that it should be about 218 hp and that if I went to a 1000 it would be in the 230 range. Is there something in the design of the cylinder that you lose flow with the larger bore. The 1107 is a great lake/trail sled. I was just hoping that in race form it would have better numbers then your saying.

you could probally squeze 220 out of it. we got that out of my 1050 hooper without any tuning. i would change the rings every year because of the huge exhaust port. if you find the right dyno tuner you can get the most out of it. just a couple pulls on the dyno tells you where its at, start changing pipes, jets, carbs and timing then your going somewhere.

I have a single port D&D 1132 T-cat that has been ported by JD Powersports and came in at 242hp & 144trq, dynoed @ DTR. Also my buddies 1107 single exhaust port came in at mid 230's not sure of trq. Both were on race fuel at that time. In trail form, mid to high 220's & ran for many seasons without trouble. They are both for sale if anybody is interested.
