    GLDRA Fees
Posted by tbrennan26 on Wednesday, October 03, 2012 9:00 PM

Everyone wants to know what it's going to cost to come race with us. We have been crunching numbers to try to make racing as affordable as possible. When you come to Infinity and Hastings they will be the same.

    $25 weekend pit pass

Trail Stock, Trail Improved Stock, Stock and Improved Stock $20

Pro stock, Heavy Mod and Factory Mod $30

    Shoot Outs $50

Insurance $15 per class, pretty standard at all races

Administration fee $10 per class, some have a $5 fee, this is how we pay the staff and charge nothing else

No daily membership, yearly membership, hot pit passes, crew membership, crew or driver starting line passes, testing fees, or any other kind of hidden fees will be charged. We are going to make this affordable as we can for the racers and still cover our expenses. At the end of the day, we have to make money to keep the association alive. While I know you all realize that, that is why it costs anything but entry fees to race.

At Hastings we will be having a test session all afternoon on Friday that is also free thanks to Bill OHara. No $20 or $40 per sled there either.

So if you were on the fence about coming to our races because of the travel expenses, maybe this will sway your desicion to come out and have some fun with GLDRA. Thanks, TB

Tom, this is excellent news.  Sure looks like the GLDRA is doing whatever it can to bring more racers out to the track, by keeping costs as low as possible.  Nice job!

I believe the $25 fee is for the weekend pass through the gate.

I wish Tom and Mark,or for that matter Blackjack or any of the other drag racing sanctioning bodies would list the costs for putting on an average weekend of drag racing.  I think a lot of racers would have their eyes opened as to how expensive it is to put these events on.

Trust me I've been to a lot of races and have paid a lot of different fees. This is as cheap as we can do it for now. The $25 is for the racer gate sorry. Vintage, I'm not sure if your intending to post negatively about this like I've seen you do before like about web coverage, but we aren't in this to make money, just cover our costs and grow an association. Unless we can get 300 entries for sure at every race, this is what it's going to cost. Are you coming up there or to any of our races? I welcome you up there to come race with us. I thought it was nice that I let everyone know! TB

I was merely asking to understand and apologize if for some reason it was taken in a negative light.

I too applaud the efforts being shown and hope that it all works out great for all concerned.

I have gone back and removed all of my posts as they seemed to be viewed as being negative.

    I won't comment any further.

Best of luck to all concerned.

the fees are right in line and im happy to pay them.  Having run several races in the past and knowing the costs for insurance, equipment, fuel, guys, etc to put on a race its more than fair.

Thanks tom and GLDRA, we will be supporting you for sure!
