    Pulling my hair out...advice needed
Posted by plumnuts on Monday, July 30, 2018 5:20 PM

I purchased a never run CKIII LT all set up for asphalt with 136 track and Wahl suspension.  We run 800cc Rotax UB motors.  In another chassis this motor ran in the high nines.

Have the motor in, checked all of the bearings, no signs of spearing the track, has 10 inch drivers... here is what happens.

The sled takes off and accelerated very well to about 330 feet and then acts like it is binding and pulls the engine RPM down 1000.

I have checked clearances, bearings, swapped parts from our other sled (i.e. clutches) and nothing, same gig every time.   Any ideas?

Finally Figured it out... the chaincase was not shimmed and caused a bind to the drive and/or jackshaft... the other issue was the center carb had a slight obstruction to the fuel inlet... runs great now... but what an Easter egg hunt to figure it out!
