    Last year, SPOT advertised their unit with a $50 refund incentive.  We decided to purchase one Sept.'10 and applied for the $50 rebate.  After several months went by and receiving no refund, we decided to see if we could find out when we could expect the refund.  At first we were told that the program was so popular, that refunds were backlogged.  We waited another two months, no refund, so we wrote again.  This time, they gave us a "control number" and were told that another company was handling.  We followed all the instructions without success.  Finally, the other day, I wrote again, (6+ months hence), gave customer service the same control number that they gave us before, and they emailed back and said they had no record of ever receiving our refund request...and if they could be of further assistance, please contact them".

    Has anyone on this forum had a similar experience with SPOT?  Has anyone received a refund from them, or was this a scam improvised to sell their units?
