Back in the day when the Rev Baron (Chuck Beasley) was doing 440's setup with RER Reverse, I also made helix's for him to satisfy that requrement.

    S4X with reverse cut.

    You mean this helix?

The reason for that funky shape (relief gap) was because when the racer would fly through the air and hit the brake to level the sled, what was happening the roller was leaving the helix angle and smacking the other side of the angle.  I put masking tape on the backside of the helix to see if the roller was hitting it and sure enough, dent the tape.

Asked Dale (dalton) to notch that out as much as possible without affecting the bushing surface and...voila!

I pulled out the old spec sheets for that helix - there are 8 versions of it with different start angles and durations that were tailored for whatever required from drag to boondocking to sno-x.

the sx4 is a dynamo joe helix, he usually had a big spread on the numbers something like a 52-36 very unusuall numbers but with his primary set up always ran good on the 440X sleds

not sure but the SX4 was a formula style cam for a older 440 race sleds, those cam angles are pulled on a cad so had to say , i'v checked so of his cams in the past but they were the RER ones.
