NEED HELP!!!! Having issues with my 2003 Yamaha RX-1

So recently i bought an 2003 Yamaha RX1 to which it had 4,209 miles on it. Test drove it and ran great so i bought it from the guy for $2,100.00 spent some time on it goofing off on my land. A friend and I hit the trails the following weekend and drove just short of 200 miles then drove it home and shut it down for about 30 minutes. I came back out side to make run to a friends house and I got about 2 miles down the trail and noticed the headlights started to dim down and it started losing power. I drove it alittle futher to get it off the trail and while it was sitting there idling and it was barely running and chugging. I went ahead and turned it off just to insure I didnt let it run and cause anymore damage if any. Since then i thought it was and issue with either the battery or the stator so I first bought a new brand new AGM battery. I tried the new battery installed and made sure both cables were properly fixed to the battery turned on the ignition and tried to start it and all that happened was a single "click" and then nothing. I went to take the battery out and both positive and negitive cables were very hot. Im lost and looking for any advice on this issue and wondering if anyone has had something similar happen.
