We have an '04 F7 EFI SnoPro, and it has been a bulletproof sled! The side torsion springs were WAY too stiff for my 150 lb Son, so we swapped them for standard model springs, and the beast rides better, and corners almost as well as a ZR. Mileage is in the 13mpg range, and it is fast, fast, fast. Even better is the 0-100 accelleration...Damn few sleds will touch it. If I could find another Fighter package, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Remember when looking at these sleds...most have had the living guts beat out of them, so make sure you take a compression tester with you when you go look at one. Check the tunnel for straightness too, and very carefully check all the underneath suspension components. Do not look at one just after it has been ridden...too much packed snow underneath there to spot anything.

Also, if you want reverse, either get an '03 or '04, or you will have to get an '05 or '06 R model. The diamond drive models can't have reverse added to them.

They are a great all around carefully and you will not be disappointed.

03 it is the fastest and lightest model of the F-7's and it has 10 tooth drivers! And no terrible diamond drive.

I have an 05 F7 and i love it. i bought mine with 700 miles on it, and i got the updates done to it, gas tank, and steering, i have put some bolt on stuff on it but never touched the motor. It now has about 6,000 trail riding miles on it and runs great. Make sure you buy EFI 2-3 pulls its started even if its -20 out, or has been sitting all summer. The 05 and 06's have updated seats on them there higher and softer. Deff get a sno pro with fox floats, and you will like the deep lug track, i put one on my standard and studded it lost about 4 mph but its worth it on the trails.

con... changing the ACT drive fluid, but once u do it once you will rig up a hose and funnel to do it with.

on the 03-04 and probably 05-06  lift the clutch cover and look down by the sway bar boss and look for a crack. this is quite common and if is cracked you will never get it clutched right since you center to center will be flexing together under load. Not a hard fix for some but depending on price , worth the look.
