    Edge xc 500 thirsty
Posted by Henkee on Sunday, February 1, 2009 5:58 AM
Hi, I have a xc 500 edge 2001 VES who is thirsty. The fuel milage is about 8 MPG under normal driving. The needle clip is the middle position (stock) The fuel mixture screw is about 1,5 turnt out från the bottom, also stock. The plugs has nice colour.. When i bought the sled, the needle was lowered one clip, the consumtion was about 10 MPG.' I changed to the standard position because i was worried it could be too lean. Can really one position on the clip make 2 mpg difference on normal driving?? Today i was on a long trip together with my brother with slow speed on bumpy trails., he has a zr 500 2001, he made 11,5 MPG and I made 8 under exactly the same driving. How is your carbs adjusted on your xc 500´s ?? Thanks for help.
