    Looking at a sled purchase
Posted by ab_newfie on Thursday, December 10, 2009 8:38 AM

I'm looking for opinions on this sled...

    2004 Polaris 700 XC  $5200.00 obo

It has 4300 miles and is in MINT shape!

I know very little regarding this model of sled. I'm looking for any info the community can give me on this sled. Fuel mileage, reliability, etc...

Thanks in advance for the help!

I dont know anything about that sled but the price seems pretty steep.  Especially for the miles.

I got an 06 crossfire 700 (0 miles) last winter for $6000.  At a dealership.

I'd check it out on kelly's blue book.  They have a snowmobile section.   Check out used prices on line too.  If it's in great shape it might be worth it.  But I think it's high.

I have a very fast and very clean 2004 Pro X2 800. SLP 91 octane heads, SLP twin ceramic coated pipes, SLP high flow air box, Boysen Rad Valve reeds, 2 torque arms with SLP motor plate, Hot Seat clutch kit, Koso EGTs, all 4 Walker Evans shocks were rebuilt last year, 196 1.25" Woodys studs in mint condition. Sled was trail ridden in the UP only. $4500.00 firm.

Wow, thats way too much money - I can give you an example of buying either a 2006 Fusion 700 ($2,999) and 900 ($3,900)  and both were less than 1.5k miles. That was a summer price upstate NY dealership. For 2004, thats pretty steep might I add.

Way too much money. I'd be surprise to get that for a 06 or 07 sled. An 04 700 XC, a great all around sled, might be more in the ball park of $3K to $3.5K depending on condition and miles.
