Posted by THREENAROW on Monday, July 25, 2011 8:37 AM

LOOKING AT TWO SLEDS AND A TRAILER FROM CONN, I AM IN NEW YORK. THE GUY BOUGHT THE SLEDS AND TRAILER FROM HIS DIVORCING FRIEND ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. HE NEVER REGISTERD THE SLEDS IN HIS NAME NOR THE TRAILER. I ASKED HIM DO YOU HAVE THE OLD REGIS IN THE PRIOR OWNERS  NAME, HE SAYS NOT NOW I MAY HAVE HAD THEM. HE DOES CLAIM TO HAVE THE REGI TO THE TRAILER. HE SAY THAT HE WILL GIVE ME A BILL OF SALE. WHAT DO YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT THIS. ALSO I DONT WANT TO KEEP BOTH SLEDS AS I PLAN ON SELLING ONE OF THE SLEDS

Dont do it - NYSDMV will give u a hard time registrating in NY. They would want the original registration from the previous owner. BILL OF SALES are no longer acceptable to my best understanding. I have a friend of mine who bought a sled from EBAY and had a real tough time to get the registered - he had to track down the seller of the sled, and find out who was the last person who had the sled registered. It was a mess and it took him a year to get it all straighten out. I wouldnt buy the sleds / trailer from CT. Anyone? WL.
