Tucker Hibbert, Arctic Cat's rider, "rocked" the Bad River
National by winning both pro main events after spinning out in the Pro-Open
Showcase, and making this event his second straight win of the series,
according to ISOC's press release.
The International Series of Champions's snocross event took
place at the Bad River Lodge and Casino National, a .5-mile track located in Ironwood,
Mich.
The track is described by riders as the "national motocross
type track with multiple lines and passing opportunities," according to ISOC's
press release.
Hibbert's wins took some effort this time around, after he
spun out and emerged mid-pack at the close of the first lap.
"I wanted to get out front early because the snow dust was
pretty bad. I saw TJ and Levi were starting to pull away and I knew they were gonna
be tough to pass so I didn't want to waste time. I found some really good lines
which allowed me to catch them before they got away," said Hibbert, in the
press release.
TJ Gulla and Levi LaVallee, part of the eight Polaris racers
in the 15-man event, placed second and third.
Rounding out the top five were Arctic Cat's pilot Garth
Kaufamn and Polaris's rider Ross Martin.
Martin was last year's Pro-Open year-end champion.
Before the Pro-Open, Hibbert won the Pro-Stock final with
much more ease by "nailing the holeshot and riding away in the 20 lap final,"
according to the press release.
Ryan Simons, fellow Arctic Cat rider, rode second but at lap six
he bobble bounced to fourth. This left room for Gulla and LaVallee to slip by
him.
While Hibbert continued to hold his own, LaVallee pressured
Gulla. At the halfway point Gulla bounced on a downhill portion of the track.
"TJ was flying," said LaVallee in the press release. "Once I
got behind him I was pushing him pretty hard as we were doubling on the
downhill. Then he just snowballed and I had to check-up... he's pretty sore but I'm
glad he's okay."
Meanwhile, the Polaris trio of Ross Martin, Shaun Crapo and
Brett Bender battled for fifth place. Ross Martin pushed through to capture the
position for the team
In the end, Polaris's LaVallee and Eckstrom placed second
and third. Ryan Simons, of Arctic Cat,
came in fourth.
Arctic Cat released a press release declaring the event a "Bad River Massacre" for their team.
"I've never seen a more complete dismantling of the competition during one weekend of racing," said Mike Kloety, Team Arctic Race Manager, in a press release.
"Winning eight of 11 classes in incredible, and a testament to our amazing racers, team and potent Sno Pro 600 race machine," Kloety said.
The team positioned itself both on the podium for pro and for semi-pro with Dan Ebert winning the Semi-Pro Super Stock final and Christian Salemark winning the Semi-Pro Open.
Yamaha Rider, Iain Hayden, suffered a collar bone injury and Ski-doo rider, Mike Schultz, suffered a serious lower left leg injury during qualifiers.
