First ever Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobile wins Italian Trophy 500

Christian Gestra, Italian snocross racer, won the Italian Trophy 500 championship, and he marked a milestone by being having the first Yamaha four stroke Victory in the Italian FIM Sno X championship, according to a Yamaha press release.

"After finishing second in the first heat and winning the second all focus was set on the Final.Christian and his FX Nytro RTX SE did the right thing and rode straight to highest place onthe rostrum, collecting the champagne and laurels," said Yamaha representative.

The Italian series is dominated by two stroke propelled machines, according to the press release.

Last Year Guido Pedroncelli, of Team Extreme Team, took up the four stroke challenge and entered the series with Gestre and a Phazer RTX.

Gestre was the only four stroke rider and ended up with a fifth place. This year, due to a change in regulation, it was possible to enter a FX Nytro RTX SE.

After 3 races Gestre was second place in the championship, just 18 points behind the current leader.
