Ripsaw or Hacksaw?

I need a new 121" track and am looking at the hacksaw and ripsaw.  I live in Iowa, we run the rivers here when we can and travel to MN and WI to trail ride.  Studs are a must for the river.  I think the studded hacksaw would be the best for the river, but I keep thinking it would be nice to have a 1.25" for those few times we get a big snow or happen to be up north and get a big storm.

How would the studded ripsaw do on the low snow river riding I do?  How does the hacksaw compare to the ripsaw?

Thanks for any info!

Re: Ripsaw or Hacksaw?

I put a new hacksaw track on my xc 600 last year worked great got it predrilled, also had good hook up and good feel in the turns good bracking, we did not have alot of snow here last year and only had (1) problem with hyfax melt so I think it worked well. PS i did over 2600 miles on it too! no real problems yet !  Jx.

Re: Ripsaw or Hacksaw?

Thanks, glad you managed to get that many miles.  I rode about 1000 miles less than you.  Have you been able to compare it to a ripsaw?
