A newbies take on racing at Haydays

I have watched for many years and back yard raced.  This year we scrambled to try our luck at the biggest show on grass.

I have to say that the racers, both pro and semi pro, were nothing but a class act!  Never once did we fell like we weren't welcome or weren't good enough to be there. Many times racers and crew people we had just met helped us at the line and helped us with set up suggestions.  Truly professional and made this weekend a very enjoyable experience. That was our biggest and most pleasant surprise during the whole weekend!  Thanks guys and girls for that!

Kris and Linda always had time for my questions and concerns and were extremely helpful.  Another big thumbs up to you two!

The tech guys treated us with great respect and actually listened when I challenged/questioned some of their rulings.  Very courteous and professional!

Payouts...........we race for the thrill of competition and the challenge to beat the best not to get rich.  We ran in semi pro and learned alot.  I personally believe that 100% cash payback and trophies is a great pay out for the up and comers.  I strongly believe that the pros deserve the bonus money!  That is where the most is on the line in my opinion.  The pros have paid their dues, spent the most time and money to get where they are at and are what we beginners strive to be!  The greatest payout for us semi pros and amateurs is to finally line up against the pros!  That is what its all about!

Once again, thank you to all involved and looking forward to seeing you all next year!
