Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
Got a question for whoever is in charge, If the driver of a sled (Kory Reed) can't make it in time for the trail ride (has to take daughter to basketball in morning) but should be there for the races can he still race his sled? The sled will be down there, I or someone will have it go through tech and all the processes but can he still drive when he gets there for the races?
Thanks, Scott

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
I just tried to call you on your phone. I'm just curious what the ruling is? I don't see why a sled can't go through tech and be corralled with a driver riding the trail portion then have a different driver for the race!? And if another guy is riding their sled, the sled don't know any better. And it will go through the trail just the same, if it don't then its illegal anyway! So please enlighten me on the subject.
I have another guy asking about having two sled there and don't see what the problem is there either. It would be the same outcome. Same as any sanction race you can have 10 sleds in however many classes and have the same driver, as long as the sled is legal and goes through tech, what is the different?

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
I'd like to run my Top Kozellbeck 09 IQ 800 in the whoszeewhatzit class, but I'm waiting on some loooooong overdo cash, so will ya spot me???
For sale: 2 matching orange race suits with top, bottom, and gloves. Would fit a pair of twins perfectly. (I'm just sayin'; somebody ordered these and never picked them up).
Also, someone ordered some studs backers and such yet never paid. Between these two I could probably pay to enter my Top Kozellbeck 09 IQ 800 in the whatever class and then some.....
Actually, if I got paid and participated I'd still win!
Sorry Vince, just trying to keep it ttt (to the top).

It amazes me...not really but I wish it did...that people special order stuff and don't come to get it.That just plain sucks for all business owners. When they come and get their stuff they probably tell ya its 10 cents cheaper somewhere else.
Look out for 600's with mirrors!!

Big Firecat:
As of right now it is glare ice but the weather says it is suppose to snow from Wed on so I will make the decision on Fri night where the trail ride will go. The track is going to be 900 ft long to make sure this very high MPH sleds have stoping room
Moose, what's up with that ? I thought it was at 1000 ft not 900? Talked to Dave and a bunch of others , would like to run 1000 ft. A100 ft will make a big difference at the end with the bigger sleds. This is not a slam or anything but wondering why 900? Looked at tracks and plenty of room at 1000 to stop.
Thanks - Koz

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
I figured you payed Vince to make it 900 because you probably cant go 1000 without poluting the lake

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
vinny c. got nervous , his house being at the end of the road/track, and possible turbo speeds of 140 or so , vinny didnt know if torpedo damage would be covered under his house insurance....
140mph needs 1500 shut down to be safe.......1300 hard brake min..so your looking at a total distance of 2300 foot to 2500 foot , for 1000 foot runs , 1/2 mile total

Scott Dalrymple
Team Reed The Difference: The general concept of this race is a "Trail Sled Shootout" meaning a race more geared towards the sleds you see on the trails and lakes every day. With said rivers actually DRIVING them every day. Not a race team bringing the lightest kid they can find and putting him on an entire fleet of sleds with several hundred HP. That IS what sanctioned racing is for, not what this race is about. Yes, many people have someone drive their sled - Vince included. But last year even though Vince entered two sleds (His F-7 & F1000) They both had different pilots to conform to the rules. I mean hey, look at the bright side - let the girlfriends drive the 1000 stocker class sled! I got my little chikky picked out! lol
Remember what we said at the drivers meeting last year FIRST: This is a FUN race! The ISR has plenty of races when you can go beat you head against the wall every weekend. I remember when a "fleet race team" showed up at a back yeard drag race event and won every class. I was wicked impressed. lol not. Bottom line (and what most guys do when they are entering multiple sleds): Put your "hot pilot" on the sled you have the most confidence in doing well. Find a couple guys/girls who have seat time on race sleds to pull the trigger for you on the other two. Its a LONG race - reaction time is important, but we aren't talking hundreths are gonna make or break it. Most of the races are pretty clear cut historically. Remember all those times when you were running 660' and said "Man I was pulling on him hard - another few feet and I would have passed him" THIS IS YOUR RACE!!!! =-D

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
I guessing these guys don't know how we race out here - lining up with 3" between our skis so we are close enough to pull wrists off throttles, hit kill switches, and apply brake levers on the other guys sleds while pushing back on his shin to use yer leg to get a lead.....lol I've got plenty of Arctic Cat (mainly the fighter pilot's) paint on my A-arms.......heh Dillenbeck tried it a few weeks ago. - Fail....

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule
Understandable about being a fun, "trail", non-sanction race but as far as the pilot of the sled he has prior engagement for his daughter and wants to run his own trail-sled but can't be there til about 12:30 or so. I don't see how a different person that will drive his sled on the trail would be any different then the owner of the sled! I understand that this is suppose to be fun race that "ISR rules" are not involved( a trail shoot-out), and race teams shouldn't show up with all their sleds to run every class, but don't understand the point of not letting the owner of the sled drive his own sled?? Half the field will have a "Hot Pilot" on there sled that they entered, and I'm sure that if it was one of your sleds and you couldn't make the trail ride but wanted to race your sled you would probably bend the rules and race your own sled. This isn't even our "Hot Pilot" as you say its just the owner of the sled. But anyhoo, guess its your rules and what you say goes, so who ever we get I'm sure it will be fair.
And don't race teams that run in the grass, they can't have trail sleds and race them on the trail. Or do they always have to run a sanction race?? I'm sure they will be a few "race sled drivers there".
