Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

Went out on the lake this morning around 9am. We got about 4" of wet stuff that packed into around 2" top. Damn near perfect for my sled, snow is my enemy lol  However there is alleged to be more in the forecast so, who knows.

All in all this is going to be ANOTHER absolute blast put on by the OLLC.  You will not have more fun at/after a race - I promise you that!!!

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

It's been posted about 25 times in the past couple months, but here ya go again. The race is on an unplowed lake. The track is whatever conditions the lake is in at race time. There is no plowed track, period. It is a bunch of start cones, and finish cones at the 1000ft mark. If we get two feet of snow between now and Saturday, that is what you race on. Keep those speed tracks and chisels on boys, I'll stick with my 1 1/4 Ripsaw. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

The heavy stuff is going to stay north of the track, Koz bros. bought a weather changing machine for 25 billion dollars and are testing it out tonight just north of the channel.

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

Sulley......I was sitting in the grandstands with Schneider when that happened! I went to Volusia Speedway two nights while I was down there. Those UMP and World of Outlaws Late Models are sick!

Ronno, the only way I am running is if there's a ton of snow. I'm not studding my sled for one outing.

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

Dangerous Dave.............I heard they flew the guy in that built the weather changing machine to help them with it. Problem is that the model they bought is the one that was a factory reconditioned unit and it turns dry air into rain. It's mainly used in desert climates. Tony Kaboomski thought they meant dessert and that it was gonna rain cheesecakes. Who knew!

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

i wasnt implying your sled alone mike ,  but , something like it with a 2" paddle 144 would raise he 11 in a foot of snow...lol    ,......3 to 4 inches of snow on ice would allow some traction products to bite the ice.....lol     but , like i said ,  its all gonna be interesting and fun to watch....conditions do affect turnout, even when you go snow tubing......lol       Big Smile

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

Would really be neat to see one of those Turbos with a 155 2inch or bigger on a foot or more of snow.

I've seen some videos of those guys out west and they are awesome to see.

And before the phone starts ringing off the hook, no I don't have one in stock.

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

I just stopped and talked to the helicopter pilots who were refueling the 37 Chinook Helicopters flying over Oneida last night.  He said the Kaboomskis were hiring them to do some snowblowing.   I woke up to snow that was KNEE DEEP. I kid you not. One mile N of Morey field.    Cicero got MAYBE 3" as of 7am.

Obama lied again.

Re: 09 King of the Trail Schedule

It's gettin pretty nasty out there, but that wind is pretty strong.  Good luck to everyone tomorrow, hope the wind keeps blowing the snow off the lake for you.  Ride fast, be safe.
