Re: Torture hill this weekend?

Update on Torchure Hill today.2-22-09 Sunday.Excellent turn out today to say the least.Smile At one time there was over 50 snowmobiles on the Hill.We had all different makes and models of all sizes. There was even a Yamaha Turbo Apex 1000cc.The Kazar brothers were also there with thier ArticCat CrossFires, the Cats were Pretty in looks with all kinds of Power. They won all there races by a huge margin and were also the Kings of the Radar Gun.The gun can tell you alot at times.Left HugChuck Cappola junior was on his Mint Firecat practicing his skills Big Daddy has him on a very strict diet he is eating once a day and is only allowed to drink water no soda at all,or Bread.lol.Everybody had fun i have never used my Radar Gun more.Hopefully next week will be as good as this week.In back yard racing there is no crying.CryingSNOWMOBILES ALL ROCK.Cool

Re: Torture hill this weekend?

It was fun the radar runs were good to see. I thought that black f-7 was gunna be fast, looked like carls old 600 was quite a bit faster on the gun, I think that sled runs damn good.. I liked seeing more smaller sleds there quite a few good races with them.  The crowds growning again almost as bit as last year.  I hope that the snow stays a while longer.

Re: Torture hill this weekend?

I did more Radar Runs on Sunday.WinkIn the stock class a 2001 SRX RAN A VERY HEATHY NUMBER AT 105.9. In the Big class a 1200cc,275 horsepower Polaris ran the fastest number i have seen in that field, the snowmobile hit 117.3 mph in a 1000 feet wow!Right HugKazars have a big trophy ahead of them.Hmm These Big Cat,s plan to race this Polaris on Sunday morning early.I will say the Orange Crossfire will prevail again and will win in 1000 feet. The Cats are Fast Period.Left Hug Big Daddy,s Mach Z will come to the table as a major underdog, but dont count the Mach Z out.Super Angry Getting back to the Radar Runs this is real speed.Studs,Gearing,Cluthing will not help you at all.Jetting down could also cause problems. These Radar Runs draw a HUGE amount of anticipation, and attention period. Are you Quick?Or are you just plain FAST! OR are you Quick and fast like the Crossfires. The field has plenty of snow and is in great shape.See you on 3-8-09.

The last few weekends have been warm/rain here so its been hit & miss for my son and I. I'll be hitting the lakes this weekend with the old Mach Z to play on the ice since I haven't had it out too much. My son and I had a great season up on the Hill. Pretty much spent every Sunday up there running with a good bunch of people. Hate to see it come to a end...

Yes Gramps, I plan on being @ Big Moose tomorrow, possibly Sunday too if the crowd heads that way. Its by far going to have the coldest temps which will keep ice quality the longest. This is the plan as of right now, as the day goes on I'll watch the site to make a definate decision. Unless the crowd goes in the totally opposite direction I'll be there!

Me and my brother checked conditions on the hill at 7 PM last night, surprisingly the conditions are hard and fast.Big SmileFriday night we did Radar Runs,a Yamaha Turbo Apex set another new record in the Field it ran a very high Speed at 120.2mph WOW. A bone stock SRX 700 hit 110.6mph a Firecat hit 103.9mph he was also stock these are big numbers can 120.2mph be beat?Records are made to be broke.ConfusedNo crying in back yard shootout,s.Crying

Scott, Sorry to say its all done up there. I took a ride in my truck late yesterday afternoon to check it out. A lot of the landowners crop is exposed. Actually, he just left my place minutes ago cause he has some repair work for me, but I mentioned to him that my son & I would go up and remove the cones and any debris(shredded belts, pieces of tracks LOL!) that we could find in the next few days so it does not get caught up in any of his machinery.

If you want to get a bit more racing in you guys should think about coming to Big Moose this Saturday/Sunday and possibly next weekend too. In the first part of the morning the surface is somewhat hard, but by noon it loosens up to where the track lugs have something to grab on to.There were quite a mix of sleds last there weekend. Just a thought...
