NED Big Buck Bracket Bash - Oct 18th - opinions needed

Okay, it official, we will be running a Big Buck bracket race in conjunction with the Outlaw race at New England Dragway on October 18th.  I want to get as big of a turnout as possible - I want this to become a big yearly event.  So I have two questions:

Entry Fee: $100 or $50?  (there will be a $33 gate fee regardless).  My preference is $100 because I like to make the winners purse as big as possible, but I understand that with today's economy, 50 bucks might be the difference that makes a racer stay home.  Post your choice here or PM me.

Bikes: I have had inquiries about bikes entering the race - I had wanted to do an all sled event, but bikes will increase the entries and the purse, so I'm not against the idea.  I will not run a seperate bike race - if they race it will be with us.  Post your choice here or PM me.

I'll take opinions until Friday July 10 and then decide on the format of the race.  So let me know soon.

PS there will be first round buybacks for $35.

I'd like to get some of the ESTA racers out to New England Dragway for this event, does this interest any of you guys?  If we get a good turnout the purse will be big.

So far it looks like we'll go with $50 entry (plus the $33 gate fee) and we'll include bikes.  We are considering segregating bikes until the final round, but that is not decided yet.

So, are any ESTA racers interested, and if so, do you have any opinions on the format?

Only problem with ESTA is they will still be running for points that day . Skyview has a Bike/Sled Shootout , they combine the bikes and sleds right from the beginning . They do two seperate classes . (1/8th mile track ) faster then 7.0 and the other class is the rest and street tire bikes only . Still a bracket race but keeps it closer . There were bikes there running 9's and slower in the 1/8th .

scott. i would keep it simple to see if works, let bikes run sleds and whatever because if you make classes and only allow streetbikes you are going to keep people away and give yourself a headach!! there is no huge advantage to a bar bike no different than a high 9 second streetbike versus a low 8 second ps1000. the best riders will rise to the top being on a bike or a sled.
