M-Series Descision

I am going to the mountains for the first time.  I am looking at buying new 2010 M8 sno pro.  The dealer also has 09 M1000 sno pro.  My concerns on the M1000 is reliability.  Their seems to be a lot of old stock in dealer inventory.  Any information or comments would be appreciated.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either sled.  I personally like the M8 as I think it will go almost anyplace that the M1000 will and the price tag is a little lighter for the 800 as well.

Re: M-Series Descision

I would say choose the M8 (if its a 153").  For a first timer, the M8 has more power than will will be able to handle.  The M10 weight is a killer for an unexperienced rider.  However, if the choice is not only motors but also length, choose the 153" over the 164".  Again, unless you are a super experienced mountain rider or a 6' + person, the 164" will be too much to handle.  I have literally 1000's of mountain miles on both the M8 and M10's, but I perfer the M8 153 (I'm 5'9, 160 lbs).

Re: M-Series Descision

Thanks a lot for the help.  I ended up picking up a non current 08 M8 with 162 track.  I am 6 ft 3 and 220 so I am hoping the longer track wont be a problem.  The deal was to good to turn down!   We have booked the lodge in Revelstoke and cant wait to get into the powder!  Thanks again

The dealer around here has been having probs with the M1000  O/H and piston failure.  Of course they say may be user abuse.  I think it was the 800 that had great reviews in the mag this month.

Re: M-Series Descision

But again, many parts of NY miss out on the snow. Crying But the events scheduled for the duration of the year should make the lack of snow better.

February 13th- the first of two up hill drags @ Williard Mountain- Easton, NY

March 20 & 21st - Two days of drag / hill climb racing. This event will the very first event for the Corporate owner of the North East Snocross & Hill Climb Tour Corporation.  Please contact 518-848-4070 for further information. (There are a few more to announce but until the information is finalized, it can not be released. Zip it!)

Regardless what life brings, snowmobile will always provide me with serenity. LET IT SNOW!!!!!!

Start your engines, pull up to the line, rev it out and then ride ride ride. Use your heart to succeed, otherwise there is no need, riding for fun or racing to lead, snowmobiling is more than a need.

IT IS AN ADDICTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
