Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

Hi Kris,

First off thanks for what you do for the sport. My question is can we have a shootout type of race for the openmod 800's even if we do not have any extra money to put in this class? The last few seasons this class was starting to come back. This is a long trip for us and we just want to race one other class and also hopfully this will contine to grow?

Are we going to have a Factory mod Class?

Thank you,

Tim Magnin

Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

I Agree it would be nice race-race-race, it is not about the big $$$ the open 800 and prostock 800 could run together? I think these classes were starting to come back, lets keep it growing!!!!

Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

Hello Everyone the reason for the early date is because that is the weekend of the Chili Fest. Big Snowmobile Race events are always hooked up around some type of festival. We have added the Outlaw Ice Drags as a backup if the World Series doesn't happen in January The reason for only 3 Shootouts is because We would like to run a full race program each day with all the Pro Classes..By running this format everyone will get in more racing. We will still have all the classes but it will be 4 at a time racing. Shootout Racing is cool but takes more time 2 at a time ladder style racing. The 3 Shootouts will be run Sunday afternoon after regular classes are complete. Our goal is to have a great purse each day for all classes and make it cheap for the racer to attend. Believe me I wish you could all get in free and the spectators & Sponsors would pay the bills. I think we are heading in the right direction by being right Down Town Port Huron. Last year I never seen so many people at a ice race. Now we are in with the city and the Chili Fest Commitee. There are 100's of people involved with all aspects of this race. The only way there will be spec fuel at this race if the fuel company steps up and puts good money into your purse. Last year on the same weekend the race was pulled off no problem and 3 weeks later we lost our ice in Gaylord. So you never know how mother nature can play with you. We are currently working on sponsors and will post purse soon.

Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

Thats right Daryl full program each day with a good Bonus Purse each Day. This way everyone can come race the Series and Split the sponsor money evenly as some classes will have more entrys which means more money with 100% payback & Purse. There will be testing on Friday from 10am till 4pm in all 4 lanes.$20 sled with Timeslips.

See you at the Series

Hi Zeekman,

I haven't been ignoring you, just couldn't log on over the weekend & I've been Deer Huntin. ( Don't Ask Angry])  My bringing the 500 will depend on the weather & if I can test first. I've made Susp, Ign & fuel changes since last time out and I need some test time. MMR

HAHA,With that small amount of changes I would think testing would be purely optional.LOL!!

Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

Hello everyone we have decided to run one more shootout. Reason Being I Brought this class into racing as a Shootout Class. I have had lots of calls from Racers in the Outlaw Pro mod Naturally Aspirated class. We will add this class as a Shootout , Qualifying on Saturday, Shootout Sunday after regular race program. So all you guys that have these Big cc Sleds get on the Phone and lets see a Big exciting Shootout class at the World Series. As for Fuel I need contact for Competion Fuels & I have already been talking to Vp. Maybe they can both put money into your purse . I will try real hard to have this nailed down in the next few days. Parking will be first come first serve at no charge. Sponsors will have special spots. The Racer & Crew General Admission pass will be $15 day or $25 weekend pass. If we do well with spectators at the first event the second one will be cheaper. If you know of any company that would like to sponsor the Series have them call me at 519-691-6088, We have several different packages.

Re: World Series of Ice Port Huron Michigan

Here is a contact name and number for Sunoco fuel, I for one would like to see the spec fuel go away or allow the speciality classes run what ever fuel they want as long as it passes what ever test you feel the need to take.

Kris

Nice talking to you tonight. Glad to see the Outlaw Pro Mod NA in the shootout, I run VP 114 will that be allowed if you go with a Diff fuel spec?? I understand the fuel spec in the lower classes but not in the high dollar motors. Really do not want to try a new fuel in a $15,000.00 motor without a ton of testing??????????????? Would be nice to see one fuel for the season!!!!

Thanks Daryl
