Snowmobile Racing

Lemme ask you outlaw and prostock asphalt guys a serious question.............and this is for the guys that actually go race, not the ones that type on here and say they are gonna go to a race and never show. Are you all happy going to a race where there are anywhere from 1 of you to 6 of you, racing for entry fees or minimal money at best? Is it only about running a number and having to run on a national event prepared track, regardless of the payout or competition or do you guys really want to race each other? Do you want to race a field of 16 sleds, where you actually have to tune to the conditions and outsmart your opponents? Do you want to race for 4-5 thousand dollars to win and not a couple hundred that doesn't even pay for your fuel to get there? Do you want to be the "main" attraction, with a ton of spectators that are there TO SEE YOU! Are you afraid to go to a certain race at the risk of irritating your "guru" or "dyno god"? If you answered yes to the first two questions and the last one, you can stop reading and remain a "follower". If you answered yes to the last three questions you are a real outlaw racer and you are the guys we want at the 2010 Prosled Shootout at the ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip in Cicero, NY next July 9th -11th! You're either in or you're out............................so which one are you?

Glad to see the real outlaw racers supporting this race. Looks like none of the NSDRA or NSA Prostock 1000 guys or girls stepping up. Take the weight off and come see if you can hang! It won't kill ya to run outside your comfort zone once in awhile, not to mention running for some big money against people you don't run against every time you go racing. As they say.......sometimes it's good to get away! Thanks guys! See you all July 9-11, 2010.

What should we tune for as far as track conditions? Hows 60ft conditions? also someone said there is a bump down track. just wondering what to expect and tune for.

Could you run a Pro-Stock 1000 class?

Better to ask the guys that have gone fast here. Keith Wood (track record holder with an 8.05), Glenn Hall (previous record holder), Steve Petchke, Jake Bissonette, Jeff Cullen, Steve Wisneski, and a bunch of others. Track is a lot stickier than it was two or three years ago. Never heard of any bump down track. There is a slight transition from the concrete to the asphalt that is an issue in the right hand tire track in the right lane. Word is they are going to try to remedy that for this year. It's not Martin with 1000ft of concrete, it is what it is, and that is the biggest asphalt race in the country. Compare it to Haydays......................the track is not the best on the circuit, but it's an event you want to win. The guys that won't come back are the guys that in my opinion can't tune for anything other than a national event prepared track or because they think they are too good for the place. So what...........we get no magazine coverage. I'm not a kiss asss and that doesn't go over very well apparently. What I do know is that this race pays the most money period, has the most snowmobiles racing at it period, and has the most snowmobile race fans lining the fences period! Oh..........and don't forget one other very important thing..............................this race has the absolute best pre-race Friday night party in the country at the world famous Cooper's Landing. Be there!

Im just thinking out loud that if there is a group of racers that like racing 1000 P/S, maybe run the class.I know you dont want to deal with the tech,but they are some of the best racers around.
