Congradulations to the ones invested, unless there's a couple typos somewhere I'm seeing 641% increase for GM and 879% for Ford. Who else is kicking themselves right now??

If your not making money now you need to hire someone.Buy cheap,goes up slamb-sell-cash in .Buy others goes up- sell.Lots of money to be made when things are down.Look at Real Estate,interest rates,Buyers Market.How about all the Corvette/Muscle car dealers.Bought up all the cars and had floor plan with the banks. Down 30% and still dropping.Not even worth restoring a car with all the inventory out there.Buyers Market.It was a banking problem not a realestate problem.95% of the people paid their bills the other 5% never should have been given loans.When my Daughter at 25 years old lived in D.C. the real estate people wanted to sell her $500,000-$1,000,000 apartments at 0% going towards the pricipal.You were only paying INTEREST,hoping the value would go up.Im glad she never did.I blame BILL CLINTON and what ever her name is.If you want someone to do your Stocks/401k ect PM me and I can give you a phone#

the problem is with the banks , they were giving loans to every tom dick and harry , even without a credit check ,  now you need a 700 + credit score to even buy a car ,   any blemish on your credit report nd no loan today ,  prob there is , many people have blemishes ,  maybe 25 % of the population has 750 + credit scores ,alot of these people can pay cash for most stuff also ,  75% have a hard time getting a loan today ,  so cars arent selling in any numbers , niether are toys ,   banks went form giving loans out like candy to becomming very stringent on loans , you can go as far back and blame as you want , the experts say the morgtage mess began 4 to 6 years ago ,   i say , everything started going to he 11 after 911 ,    if you go back as far as clinton , your talking about people who morgtaged there homes 10+ years ago ,  i dont think it takes 10 years to figure out finacialy you have bitten off more than you can chew buying a home....4 or less is more like it....IMO

 hate to burst your bubble but all the auctions so far had record sales, if you have a good car the numbers are still up.. i am in a buying mode and believe me they are not giving any muscle cars away. i do think you can get a good deal on some sleds though!! if anyone has any good muscle cars that they want to give away let me know. every time i see the big three in trouble it reminds me of all the time i spent in there sevice dept getting jerked around!! they deserve what they got!

Congress  opened the flood gates. Even Obama , when he was just a lawyer sued Citibank to require them to lend more to the minorities in Chicago.  That was the crack in the dam.   When they introduced the "No Prinicpal" loans, is when they REALLY hosed themselves.  Out of control increases in property values in areas like Cali and Florida, send the market spiraling.  Then no one could get a mortgage.  Re-enter the Congress  loan nonsense with participation numbers.  When the R/E market started  to tank, the first ones out were the No Principal loan people.  It crumbled from there.    Like anything, when you get our government involved in the personal lives/business, its bound to lose money or get screwed up. 

Used to be hard to get a loan. For a good reason. You have to be able to repay it.

when you loose your job ,  how do you pay all your bills on UI ?  you wouldnt believe the amount of people in this country living pay check to pay check ,   i take it you were against the goverment bailing out and buying out banks ,  cuz thats about as involved as gov. can get ,  the majority of both parties were for it , they didnt like the consiquenses of not bailing them out ,  same with the auto makers given the number of jobs on the line if they go under ,  million people loosing there jobs and not being able to pay there bills isnt gonna help the banks out..lol   i fully agree loans became to easy to get , and the no interest gimicks were a time bomb. new  cars and toys were flying out of the showrooms like wild fire , now its , screeeeeetch ,out of the saddle and over the hoarses head

I NEED TO CORRECT THE STATEMENT ABOUT BEING THE NUMBER 1 SELLER.

IT WON THE NORTH AMERICAN TRUCK OF THE YEAR AWARD and goes on to say......

IT IS THE NUMBER 1 SELLING VEHICLE IN AMERICA (of any kind of vehicle) FOR 27 YEARS (per the video)

It was not compared to the Silverado, it was stated to be the #1 seller in America.

And they haven't taken the bailout money.  (our money)

Bailout money? How was it a "bailout"? It's a loan just like Chrysler got in the 80s. A bailout means a paid-for-mistake in my book. The banks were a joke, as were some of the investment firms. I want to see some accountability for the worthless F&*KS that litterally stole YOUR $$$$. Will that happen? We know who did what, how much, where it's at...forget it and "move forward" huh? Yeah like I'd do that if I knew who STOLE from me. Intent is easy to prove isn't it? The ones in charge need to pull down real hard on both ears. When they hear a loud pop that's their heads coming outta their azzes.

I somewhat agree with Steve.  At least for the most part.

I do not mind a low interest LOAN to any business.   BUT, the money should be given with CONDITIONS.  And with set payback parameters.

#1   Accountability.   The CEO, CFO, and Major stockholders should have to FREEZE any trading of their own stocks.   No getting a loan, selling off thier shares, and defaulting, letting them crash.

#2   Austerity Budget should be in place.   No extravagent 40 Million dollar parties.  NO EXTRAS until the bill is paid

#3   NO GOLDEN PARACHUTES, NO PERKS, NO BONUS's until the bill is paid.

#4   Expendable assetts shall be liquidated.  IE the 212 GM concept /collector cars are goig to Barrett Jackson as we speak.

We had only 2 reasons to bailout the Big 3. 

#1 is the Union Retirement deal. To NOT bail them out, would be killing all GM retirees.  My opinion of that, is the deal was made long ago. Honor the deal.  As much as I hate to say it. Its a bed the Mfrs made, they must honor the deal.. No renegotiating, like they were doing.    BUT they should re-consider for any new hires.

#2 is bailing out the Major Stockholders. So many people were invested in the Big Three , that everyones portfolio would get massacred. To let them file bankruptcy would devastate the stock price. Basically make them worthless. Guys like Nardelli would shoot themselves.

As far as people being laid off, and what they get for $$ on UI vs. their mortgage, thats poor judgement on their part. Not anyones fault but theirs.   Anyone who is buying these big expensive houses should have a big bank account for backup.  You always have to live within your means. You upsize, its YOUR fault if you cant pay the nut.

 If the detroit 3 go away this country is done for sure.

we may possibly be able to live with the Detroit 2 but it wont be easy, if IF Chrysler dissolves in 1 way shape or form the supply base in the states will suffer first with huge business falters along with huge unemployment these company s that will go down will bring down there suppliers and there suppliers and so on and so forth and there will be a "few" suppliers that will make it and yes they will benefit after they are done suffering and taking out guess what??? More of there suppliers.

its called the trickel down effect. thats not my guess its a fact.

And yes I am an auto supplier, we have been in business since 1943 and still doing ok. We have some great stable customers, and we stayed a small family owned business, and live in 1700 sq. ft home NOT 4500sq.feet, We don't lease our vehicles we own them after 3 yrs.We never jumped into the bigger britches i guess you might say, like some of our competitors that are not around anymore.

Keeping our fingers and toes crossed for now.

It appears people need to be updated on light truck sales. These are the figures up to Sept 2008:Ford F-series 392,698,  Chevrolet Silverado 370,502,  GMC Sierra 133,811,  Dodge Ram 196,058  Toyota Tundra 117,313.  It is true that Ford's F-series outsells Chevy's Silverado by 22196 units this year, however it should also be noted that GM has always produced their truck in 2 brands. When you combine both of GM's units you will see that GM far outsells Ford by 111615 units. Sorry ford but you must compare company sales figures not division figures. This has always been a gimmick used by Ford in every catagory. And Toyota, you say your Tundra is the truck that is changing it all, well not sales figures. Maybe one more redesign and you will have it right.
