Honestly, given the situation, hes not doing a bad job.  (Yeah, I complemented a Dem., and I am not drunk...LOL)   The State employees are guaranteed their pension fund WILL NOT DROP, and get a 5% guarantee increase per year. Guess who funds that Lulu?   Yep, all those DOT sleeper cabs full of men are still doing really well at a DOW of 6500. When it goes back up to 14,000, they get the free ride up!!   Thanks Mario!   Those guys make out excellent when the DOW fluctuates like this. They are in a no lose position.   Must be nice.

Re: N20Ronno

Pattersons approval rating is lower Than Spitzers w/o the extra corricular activity.  I kinda figured you would be on here earlier today Jeff but I guess you had to get your material together.  Thats terrible with the extra enforcement at this time of the month.  Hope they all wear green tomorrow and dont make any car stops as a tribute to St Pattys Day.

I don't get it! They step up road patrols, becoming more strict on traffic violations with increased fines, sur-charges, etc. Hassle all us so-called Outlaws for being on the lakes. Then I read tonights headline: Weakened Drug Laws Risk Safety, Officials Warn  If this doesn't mirror what we were saying about the law being on the lake instead of going after the real criminals. But now they want to slap their hands even less and are now concerned about their "needs"!!!Angry

Re: N20Ronno

they had a realy smart guy in my opinion today being interviewed on cnn by chanchez ,  in a collage setting , teachers and kids ,   he was trying to explain how this all could have happened ,  he said it began here in major corperations , and spread overseas , over and over again it all came back to one answer to every question ,   capitalistic greed + corporate corruption finding ways around regulation , no holds barred climb to be the king of the hill,  and make the rich richer at the common mans expence ,  goverments answer ,   contiue the same at all levels ,  everones trying to survive with the same teqnique ,  state included ,  nail us at every opertunity with every ticket they can , while corps like aig use our tax payer bail out cash to hand the execs millions in bonuses ,  the same execs that got us in this mess ,  everyone in this society in there perticular line of work wants more money , more benefits   more everything ,even now,  and this dog eat dog society that instills this greed in us  creates americans who cling and grab at everything they can regardless of wether there neighbor is out of work and suffering,   ruthless greed,   the dog eat dog world,  human nature in a sort when humans get caught up in the stream of it all , i see it every morning while the rats speed thru the maze to get to there places of employment,  it all ends when the top goes broke ,and to few greedy ba  sterds hold all the loot, then it starts all over again......Indifferent

Re: N20Ronno

I was listening to the retired County Executive this morning. He had some interesting insight as well.

The State is invested in the Market for 20% of its operating budget. NY isnt the only one. California is another.  Do we see a trend here. Market at less than 1/2 of what it was. There goes 1/2 of NY's investment.  Thanks again, Mario. The sad part is the States can not move with the market like a regular stock trader can. They are LONG term, regardless.  And this is contributing to the huge shortfall.

His other beef was the massive spending that the State is doing. Silver is basically controlling the State finances, and his world isnt the same as everyone elses.  He's well off enough that he could care less about the working guy. He screwed people hard enough to a point where he has a guilty conscience.  At everyone elses fiscal detriment. So to make HIM feel good, he bangs the taxpayers to give the poor even more money/benefits.  Its time to cut them back too. We cant keep giving the recipients raises and more benefits, and taxing the workers harder.

We also need to reign in the corporate welfare like this stupid stimulous plan. AIG should have tanked.  We stepped into a very dangerous position by bailing out these corps. If we would have let Gm, Ford, AIG, etc fail, SOMEONE else would have stepped up and taken their place. It was a ploy to hook some more retiree voters. Thats it.  Bailouts will only delay the inevitable.  AIG is proving it.  I give them 2 years before they will have their hand out again. Next year, they will need more bonus's for running the companies into the ground.  Now, we gave Government intervention in business.  Those bozo's have no business sense, or we wouldnt be in the mess we're in!  Now they are going to interefere with somewhat viable businesses??   Hello totalitarianism. The doormat to Communism.    If thesse dumbasz politicians had ANY brains, they would have spent 5 minutes considering the posibilities, and had enough foreesight to twart this bonus deal. MAKE THE PRICIPALS/OFFICERS responsible for the money!!  ACCOUNTABILITY.  Just imagine what our founding fathers would be thinking of this charade.

Yes the incident did, last nights! LOL! No names though...

Broken snowmobile hauled from canal

Firefighters responded to a report of two men falling through the ice at Muck Road and South Madison Street Friday.

The department received the rescue call at 1:35 p.m.

Deputy Chief William J. Gifford said that someone saw two snowmobilers out on the canal and thought they were breaking through the ice. So they called 9-1-1, he said.

It turned out that the two snowmobilers were racing their sleds when one of the vehicles broke down. Firefighters assisted the men in getting off the ice before removing the snowmobile from the canal.

Re: N20Ronno

Ahh, Commander Google had 30 seconds, and  has researched this Congressional Act of Buffoonery.

In Congress's agreement, they stated that NO CONTRACTS SHALL BE VOIDED.  Obviously, Congress's intent was Union Protectionism, BUT they blew it. The people who recieved these raises got them under their contractural agreement.  BY LAW (Congressional Act) they can not reneg on their contract with the GROSSLY OVERPAID employees.

This really sucks. As bad as these Corporate Vacuums are, our own Congress is overwhelmingly made up of IDIOTS.

they are laughin their - sses off behind the scenes.  Been doin it and will always do it.  They might get a slight set back once in a while but they find a way around it.  Years ago at 18 yrs old you had to report to Selective Service for a physical so just about all your buddies go down at the same time give or take a few months.  one guys father had a funeral service $ he comes back 4F.  Another one fuel oil business $ 4F.  All city linebacker bench presses 2000 lbs catering hall $ 4F.  Get the picture.  Then they laugh like they are getting over.  Then you see Frankie pots and pans no $ pushing himself around on a dollie cause he stepped in the wrong place.  We are the dummies.

Relating to the middle of your post. A 2nd lewy with brass ones and a big mouth (not Many) yells attention In Fort Polk. Fort Hood etc but they usually sit back and observe in country because crazy things happen.  We have been talking for months about our pocket books.  While this is important it dont compare with your neck. They usually sit back on their hands and observe and learn cause OCS dont teach you that

Re: N20Ronno

Oh this is easy......

Bill Clinton: Canada, eh?

Al Gore :   Hiding under Daddy's arm?  Pops got him into the Engineering bridage, and set him up as Publisher of Castle Courier. About as far from the fighting as you can get.

Kerry; Daddy uses his  clout as Embassador to change Jrs NEC. Unfortunately, the Navy felt that the PT boats belonged near battle so John had Pops send him hs video camera to authenticate John (Kept man) Kerry as a child killer, by shooting a 13 year old, who was RUNNING AWAY ,in the back with a 50cal machine gun after he screwed up. He didnt navigate the craft as directed by the NAVY, knew he was going to be canned, so he scuffed his knees when servicing the Admiral, and then getting clap from a WAC. Earning him a purple heart and war zero status from liberal wachos around the globe. THEN he went to China to Join the ranks of Jane Fonda

Re: N20Ronno

that swift boat garbage doc ,      you know that ,

worked with an older guy , actualy i ended up taking his job  at at a honda shop , he was a nice guy , realy cool dude , very troubled ,  would go on these binders and end up in detox once a month at the local hosp.  , talked to him ,  seems he was having trouble dealing with some of his behaviour over there , was a tanker ,  him and his crew would sit in the wood line of open fields and cut everyone who came out into the other side of the field in half with the tanks 50 cal ,  they would smoke funny weed and make a betting game out of it ,   war is he 11 ,   not all got caught up in this type of behaviour , some did , the hatred and revenge war triggers in people is intense ,  loose a best friend to the enemy then try to be civil ,   come home , and it all sinks in and hurts like he ll ,  chit happened over there that wasnt right on a moral bassis or even close on both sides ,  to pretend it didnt is hypocracy and ignorance ,  war is he 11 ,   what did you learn happens in he ll ......kerry served ,  regardless , some of what he did afterward helped end the barbarism created by war performed by both sides....its ugly as he 11 , there are no angels.....just , hate , revenge , killing , torcher , survival,  dont politisize the things that war brings out in people , or critise someone who serves and tries to end it by bringing some of the uglyness to people like yourselfs attention who would rather create ther own version as to whats going on for the sake of political convienence.

Re: N20Ronno

I agree with 100% of what you said. But playing "Jane Fonda" is inexcusable and irreprehensable.  Sorry, no matter what spin you want to put on it, HE ENDANGERED the lives of others that were still over there ON THE GROUND, as well as the POWs. Don't ever forget that Ron.

Now let me ask you. Why would YOU take a video camera there to film yourself in politically themed movies, if your aspirations for public office weren't your intent?  Remember, he was a Silver Spoon, as you like to call it. His old man VOTED FOR the War in 1964. It wasn't until Kerry was  near geting out of college, and available for the draft, that the old man started voting against.

Obama lied again.

Re: N20Ronno

point being , he served in combat !   in any twist you cant put him down aginst the likes of a george bush , who couldnt even finish his state wide tour in the n.g.  ,   no way can you put down someone whoe served in combat over someone who used his silver spoon connections to get out of it , just know way ,  the swift boat attack disgusted me when they were putting a man who avoided combat all together and couldnt even finish his statewide tour ,  just isnt know way bush is a better man !

someone had to speak out abot the attrocities in that war , you see , my tanker friends orders were whomever came into that field saw them down ,  "anyone"   it bothered him when he was introduced back to this envirement ,  everyone overthere and not all were in areas that were this caotic to see bad things goin down on both sides ,  but , everyone knew what was going on on both sides ,  kerry's protests helped end the war and save lives on both sides in the long run ,  even in the iraq war attrocities have happened where troops loose it ,   someone speaks out , and its gets brought out in the open and ended ,   someone has to speek out in oreder to end it ,  in iraq , blackwater was out of control , now they are banned ,  some of those guys even drugged and raped one of there own female contractors, there is law in civilian life and there is law in the military , but in the fog of war , its hard to enforce , as soldgers we have to hold our sleves to the highest standerd possible given the cituation were in , i am glad kerry spoke out after serving and helped end that war , what i am not glad about is ,  just a few rotton apples in the fog of it all ,  caused alot of good brave troops to get stigmatised in that war.
