Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
the purpose of the oem flap is just to have the oem manufactuers name on the back , other than that if yo do run a rubber flap they dont want it getting sucked into the track area so they want you to use a W bracket , with all the aftermarket chassis comming into the picture , whats oem mean anymore anyways , never got a sposership ck from polaris or cat in my life , last year they had a proline laydown running out there , take alot of gaul to bust on those of us who dont have our oem rubber flaps dangling off the back, and there are a few of us....how many of the big 4 sponser the shoot out? zippo , i think the book needs to be revised in that area , to just read , oem manufactures name plate on rear seat area, the way the book reads , the rubber flaps can be dangerous.....if sucked in , but if they push the issue onto all of us , i'll dangle one of there somehow ..lol i do run one on ice , sleds so low tar or ice i have to cut strait thru the oem logo anyways to keep it from dragging the ground..lol so whats the use...and no the rubber flap wont stop a blown track from comming out the back , not even close , and that isnt why they want you to have one on, its the oem logo , i do have an old evinrude flap laying around here somewhere......

fortunatly harrys not tech , or he'd be telling open wheel'd dragters to have fenders , lol sleds are getting longer like bikes did on tar, some times the wheel or the track is gonna hang out the back , we aint slinging mud or snow, sleet, freezing rain , gravel , well , maybe just a little gravel..lol

Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
like'n this 136" already , couple 500ft street passes to skun the track a touch , the 136 seems to make the sled want to go straiter even when spinning , and it tries to hook better than the 121" even on cold tar , i built more speed quicker than my 121 , over shot my stooping point twice by alot ! tried to vidio but the wife isnt smarter than the cam... then to finish skunning the track i hooked it to my wheeler on the abbrasive concrete , daughter got home from work and i called her over and told her to sit on the wheeler and hold both brakes , ended up pulling her 25 foot with the wheels locked up , got the job done though , unfortunatly her work uniform is black pants 'WHITE" dress shirt , wich ended up speckled with sticky black rubber, wich got me put directly into the dog house
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Sounds like my all out shootout idea is getting or has been shot down. I vote for all motor twin then. What do you think.

Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
as of now i know there is the big bracket , the anything goes heads up , pro-stock 1000 , anything else would depends on interest and sponsers , when rich is done goin backwards up ski slopes...they will get a better idea, i know twins are the market machine now adays , i believe vern said there were only 7 entrants last year , but i also think it was an anything goes twin witch made glenn the shoe in....

Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
DYNOTECH JIM is the ultimate sponsor I just found out he called Vern & is putting up 250 cash $50.00 to each winner with a Dynotech sitcky on the windshield ( sign up will have stickers). Now is a good time to get your sled dynoed for the asphalt, all the top guns like Glenn Hall make the trip to dynotech. If you have never been its worth going just for the education & the more stuff you can change the better. Now if all the other sponsors can call Vern like Jim did I'm going to take the 2 1/2 mountain track off the XP & put an asphalt track on. Jim thanks & guys one thing about asphalt you need HP on the big end so you better get it checked.

Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
Sponsor Update:
Once again we would like to welcome Guy Fox and Fox's Discount Parts in West Monroe, NY as a major sponsor of the 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout. Fox's Discount Parts has been a sponsor of this race since it's beginnings in 2001. You're right. This would be the 9th annual race if it started in 2001. The 2001 race was rained out and was held in 2002.
New sponsor for the 2009 race is Onondaga Flooring. Several of the regular ESTA racers are in the flooring and/or carpet business and co-owners Michael and Scott Perry wanted to get involved. Onondaga Flooring has three locations in Syracuse, Manlius, and Fulton, NY.
n2oron and the Smith Family Racing have upped the ante this year and have pledged $200.00 to the Shootout purse. With out looking I think that every member of the Smith family has an ESTA Track Championship in either Pro Sled, Pro Bike, or Jr. Dragster.
As Rich mentioned DynoTech Jim Czekala is back on board with an increased commitment for 2009. Jim has posted a $50.00 prize to the winners in all five classes. The only thing you need to do is put the DynoTech decal on your sled and win the Race. Decals will be available at the registration booth.
Last Call! The Trucks-R-Us Shootout flyer will go to print next Friday. If you would like to get your logo on the flyer we will need to get your info soon. Thousands of these flyers are going to be distributed across the U.S. and Canada.

Re: 8th Annual Trucks-R-Us Pro Sled Shootout Inside Scoop
It would be nice to have a second race having a twin class like Martin race is suppose to do. Not agreed what the class is going to be but either heads up or what most people I know would like is a twin open class with power adder NOS especially the ones that have supported the races since it started. This also would allow factory turbos aka Z1. I agree with the turbo Glen sled but I feel that if it was just NOS that opens the field up to many twins that did not enter and it is economical.

So my last unanswered voice mail to you a few weeks ago after you told me about your bent crank was, since I f'd up by not aborting immediately and stopping the session, and that your tuning might be skewed by vibes, that I would redyno tune your sled with new crank (not pressed back into shape further stetching molecules) at no cost to you. Any day will be fine.
I will not refund any of the dyno time you paid for because you recieved the accurate information needed to make your sled run better, A perfect boondocker tune, perfect boondocker n2o tune, and determining what pipes are optimal for your engine.

The biggest concern that I can see for the all motor class is that there's also an NSA race that same weekend, which will have any of those racers that are running for points at Epping instead of ESTA.

Here's the design of the Shootout trifold that will be printed. On the cover Evan Hasely squeeking in behind the new logo, PTM Stan's airbrushed ACat hood and the money hog Glenn Hall with his two mega checks! Inside we have photos of our 08 class champions. The new logo will be the new '09 t-shirt design with our sponsors listed on the back. A dedicated web section for the shootout will be launched in a week or two. Hopefully I can figger out how to post the links properly. Trifold cover Trifold inside
