Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

What kind of HP are engine builders getting out of twin cylinder pro stock 600 thru 1000 engines these days? And what brand seems to make the most HP?

Thanks.....

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

190hp out of a twin with a 75lb weight break.   That sounds fast

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

There's no way a PS 700 twin can be making 190 HP. What brand and who's doing the work?

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

thats why t time for a rule change for then all there gong to do is get faster and faster.the weight helps them 60 ft and the heavy triples have to run them down.time to add 25 to them or take 25 of the triple and see what happens.

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

They already took weight from the 700twins. They added 25pds to the F7's a couple of years back.

All this talk about HP numbers, What kind of torque numbers are the triples creating?

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

For a PS700 triple, about the same but have to weight a heck of a lot more.

Great incentive to invest in a triple to race, huh. The weight penalty was appropriate back in the day when twins weren't developed and making the power that they are making today.

Great job on tuning and thanks for the rides, had fun racing with you!

I say take the weight off the tripples, these sleds are already a pain to push through the mud...

Funny the manufacturers of these "twins" don't contribute to the racers either, what does it matter what you run or what's new the market then?

I agree with your sarcasm. So screw the guys who sunk all that $$ into building triples to race? Toss all that investment of time and $$$ away and start over because they don't sell triples anymore? LOL!

Ah, then the same thought process applied says all the old small block and big block car engines should be eliminated from drag racing since they don't make those anymore... Only allow 4 and 6 cylinders.

I don't know if everyone has looked around at any grass drags lately, not so many sleds racing like their use to be 10 years ago. I wouldn't be trying to eliminate or push out ANYTHING, rather try to get all the race sleds that USE to compete back on the tracks...

Yeah, I know. The reason I put I agreed with your sarcasm. Just took what you were trying to imply and ran with it a little.

Ppffss, i can only imagine what they say about our Pro-Stock Vmax 4... want us to add tungsten floor board grips. HA!

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

All it takes is a couple twins that run good to get you guys all worked up? Go test thats what were all doing! There not runing any better numbers then the triples, As for as 60 footers your suspension has adjustments maybe you better make some this is rediculous also I personally seen Mike Bailey 1.09 sixty with a tripple and many 1.10s over a couple of races As far as DandD they test non stop that is what they are supposed to do better do your homework if they are coming because they have.

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

I find this topic funny too ! All this time the tripples rule these classes....twins get a weight break but no one really takes them seriously . Now after years of testing and homework just like all the tripple guys got into their stuff .....................finally the prostock class could go either way on raceday .....................so the twins win one here and one there and all of this sudden we need a rule change ??............I love it . Another 10 page topic . How dare those Twin guys have their "Effort equal results " !!  LOL !

in pro stock 700 and down the weights need to be looked at but 800 and 1000 seem fair

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

The imp 600 and pro 600 classes do need some attention there is almost no one left in there, there is alot of tripplles out in some barns somewhere sitting because they will never ever run a 5.2 in improved or low 4.9 in prostock so they just gave it up.My old imp 600 ran 5.50 consistantly sometimes a touch faster and sometimes slower,i could have got it to run faster consistantly with some work, but i doubt a 5.2 is in its future.

Re: Pro Stock Twin H.P.?

Back to the question, anyone else know what kind of HP numbers twin pro stock 600 thru 1000 engines are making and what brand?

Thanks...
