Jimmy- The exposed body is susceptable to knicks. The outer air chamber rides across the body, to act as the air spring. Those knicks grab the seals , and tear them. Then you lose air. If you buy a set, just be sure to put some sort of shield around them to keep the body from getting knicked. If the "knick" is actually a dent, the floating piston, or the main piston will get stuck on that dent, and has been known to rupture the body. Saw it 2x last year on regular size Floats. The body

Mark, Those are for full size Float shocks. The MXRs are substnatially smaller. They weigh 17 ounces. The shocks that Blackjack was selling seemed to be much sturdier, but are no longer produced by the mfr. Jerry sold the company, and ceased production. Right now though? The MXRs are on top like Brent says.

Yep, used one for a full season before buying a weather station. Definately a plus. Jegs has them the cheapest when you sign up for a racers discount. You need to have a competition number for NHRA or IHRA. Free sign up.

When you open it up, there's some paper wadded up on top with a bunch of languages on it. I suggest reading whichever you can get through, to find out the PROPER SETUP. Like entering the ALTITUDE at where you are. Makes a huge difference! You can go to US Geological website to get the altitude for just about anywhere you want to go. Be sure to change it, when you get there, and re-aclimate it.

Dana- You pretty much said it. Tell everyone what the spec fuel will be for the race WELL in ADVANCE . Add $X dollars per class run, for a fuel surcharge, to the entry fee. (You gotta buy the stuff anyways.) Figure the average pass would be one quart. Yeah, I know its less, but the promoter has to mess with too many variables. He'll have a fuel guy there to dispense it in the lanes.

You need big money sponsors to make the purses worth racing for. THEN you will have the racers. But right now, look at the costs with fielding a competitive sled TODAY, vs. 20 years ago. Then look at the payouts. The sled used to be $5K for a top sled. , Now, its well over $12K. And the mfrs dont kick in a PENNY. The racing only helps them sell sleds, but they refuse to pay back. I'd pull every single sticker off the sled before advertising for them, if they dont pay. Look at how much testing

So long as you use a spec fuel with no contribution, there IS NO incentive for a fuel supplier to pony up. Its a freebie for some guys (Like VP). In all honesty, if a fuel supplier wanted to get on board, it would be in thier best interest to PONY UP EARLY, get on board, and sell the fuel at half msrp to the Promoter. The promoter in turn could sell the spec fuel, and put the money into the purse for that venue. DO IT EARLY, so guys can tune/clutch with that fuel. Joe, Did Kris stomp on your pet
