I'm thinking that AmSnow suggested the F8 vs Crossfire is the F8 is what seems to be selling best? Besides, 25 lb heavier but 5 hp more seems to me the F8 will hold its own. Just got done dynoing both sleds today with D&D Dale testing Ypipes and pipes and the F is surely more powerful bone stock. Plus we're running a crossfire 1000 so we have that for comparo.

[quote user="ridgerunner"] do you have to be a dealer to enter and sled in this event No, anyone can enter a sled if they are sponsored by an aftermarket company that will have a display ad in the American Snowmobiler Shootout issue. Ie: if you have a hot sled with D&D parts on it, D&D can approve you as a sponsored entrant in either trail mod (max 2" lower than stock, stock track, real trail carbides, pump gas supplied by us) or lake mod (anything goes). Or if you have for

Every carbed sled racer should have one of those. I use that kestrel race weather station for figuring the vapor pressure for dyno correction. Plus the actual barometric pressure is exactly identical to the baro on my dyno which is reassuring when calibrating each day. Many, many dyno operators (including me from 1987-1993 or thereabouts when an airplane guy smartened me up) mistakenly use corrected weather baro which reduces corrected power by a bunch. If you go to anyone's dyno it would be

Erv yes i agree, the Big Moose Yamaha guys have been great partners for 19 years, and the Big Moose Arctic Cat guys have been great partners for 18 years. Lots of work on everyone's part. It was disappointing to see the BM Cat guys hose us needlessly (who was the XFire 1000 running against?) the first year AmSnow was back with us after their hiatus, especially after George Taylor and I promised Mark Boncher bone, bone stock machines to compare. Plus George Taylor and I implored all partner dealers

Friday December 11 is the date, Woodgate NY is the location once again for the 20th annual Shootout. Participating dealers: Smith Marine Again Skidoo, White Lake Polaris (under new ownership), Ed Frederick & Sons Arctic Cat, and Excell Motorsports Yamaha. Ed Fredericks & Sons was selected to replace Big Moose for the Arctic Cats because of last years cheating situation with the Big Moose Xfire 1000, but the Big Moose Yamaha group was still welcome. But because of the switch in Cat dealers

Also perhaps this has been addressed but is there food vendor(s) on site or do we brown bag it?

On Nov 27th take a break from watching football, tune into DTR live screaming video and listen to the sound of the turbo 4 cyl shreiking at 9500 RPM. Enzo Ferrari would be envious. Plus I fixed the big HP readout screen so you can see the power as it happens.
