Donny, Sorry to hear, stay busy & time will heal Rich Daly
Jeff & Dan congratulations on the quickest & highest MPH 1/4 mile pass ever on an asphalt snowmobile on a street night with marginal traction & spinning hard @ mid track. The only thing wrong was Dan forgot to tuck down or didn't have time? The other thing I noticed is you had a great 60 ft for that weight sled with a good old Proline ( not one of the asphalt specialists magic suspensions) & you had a stock chassis ( not one of the great add on front ends that some have been rewelded
Billy, Thanks I had a good time, good food & hope all the Cat riders have already forgot how to program that Boondocker. Hope to see everybody at the 1st hillclimb at Brantling Dec 19th ( I just changed the date on the family X mas party so I can go) Rich Daly
Stan, Its 1 in the morning just got in from the shop & read all of this plus Dyno Jim's blog. As a dyno operator Jim did nothing wrong at the time, being an honest guy he told you in hindsight that it would have been better to have quit running sooner. I'm going to agree with you that the crank was probably fine at the track, what we don't know is would it have been fine with 7 more passes??.But why did Jim have to elongate the belly pan hole? Either the belly pan was off or the crank
Hi Stan, I just had to reply, you had some excellent answers & I'm sure Amsnow moved it to ask the experts as it was a good question & probably wanted all the readers to see it & have their experts input. You named no names so no conspiracy & all the race post answers went along with it. With over 14,000 dyno runs my experience is very rare for crank damage the only one I can think of we broke a dyno shaft on a MXz 670 bent the crank & I think broke the cases. I seized the
Great Job !! Tinna glad to see you setting THE #. Hang on, rope the pits off, don't let the big experts help with the tune up, they will just slow you down. Give Peter earplugs & only let him gas it & change plugs. LOL let him keep his cell in case Chuck calls. By the way guys she ran 157 with the 8.07, mph is low for that et, they are probably geared for Pro Stock where I think she qualified 1 with a 8.38. Tinna you can do it, good luck Rich
Guys & girls it was not grueling tech, there was nothing wrong with the sled it was my Pro Stocker I had run it at several nsa events before other than the usual Rich wire holding the cowl etc & the chaincase cover only had top two studs & I had put new Ski-Doo shocks on as an aftermarket shock had broken the week before unloading the sled. The sled passed tech I did the best driving job of my life running spinning the whole way pedaling once only at 800 ft going from 120 in the 1/8 to
Kristin, Very sorry to hear about your dad. Only knew him as the the scale guy & seemed very down to earth. Rich Daly
Very professional & great plug for sled racing. This needs to stay at the top so New England sledders attend this event. IHRA is definitely pro active with the sleds talked to Kurt Oberholtzer their promotion & vendor rep about a Mad Scientist booth for my car header coating & gave me a deal if I brought a Dyno Port booth also to represent snowmobile products. They feel New England has a lot of snowmobile enthusiasts & the Pro Stock sleds will draw them. I will need help, to hand
So many confusing posts I was asking Roy this morning why won't you run improved stk 800? I apologize Roy I forgot what you are trying to do run a few of the fastest classes NHRA style on Sat & Sunday is a different day for all racers to run. Roy is one of the best ambassadors this sport has plugs for the new kid on a fan or the improved 800 because they are racers as much as his Pro Stk class. As racers we should appreciate what Roy is doing & my sponsorship money went to the Pro Stk
